Tui do accept Monzo cards. They just tell you that they’re not accepted, along with some other banks, for some unknown reason, but they actually go through.

I’ve only used Gridserve 3 times in the last 6 years and each time I used our Monzo Joint account (:scream:) without issue. Although the last use was back in 2024

But I doubt that a proper-bank-account-mastercard-debit card that DID work OK would subsequently be unsupported. Sounds :fish: y

Thats is why I find what Gridserves Social a bit odd, to be honest I stopped using them as very expensive, and last used one last october…

Just get an Electroverse card and be done with it, then when you get to the services, use Ionity or Applegreen which charge the car quickly, compared to Gridserves knackered infra

I believe you can also email acceptance@monzo.com and they will get in touch with the merchant.

If it hasn’t already been suggested.

Yeah I have done that already

TUI still won’t take it because they won’t update their policy now it’s no longer prepaid and think it’s ok to not follow MasterCard rules. Why MONZO don’t seem to want to sort this is beyond me

It’s never been technical it’s a policy

They dont think it’s still pre-paid, take a look at their website

Because it’s not Monzo’s problem to solve. It’s between TUI and Mastercard. However the issue isn’t that they don’t accept Mastercards, but specifically Monzo.

TUI have no obligation legal or otherwise to accept Monzo. So until TUI decide that they do, it’s very much down to pot luck on the plane itself.

Yes I’m aware it’s specifically Monzo thats why it’s a Monzo problemu

They do in the announcements they specifically refer to it as prepaid

Not always. There’s an entire topic dedicated to this and you can read through tonnes of peoples experiences there
