I know Monzo has a way to donate to national charities, but I think it would be great if they used a similar system to the Co-op for local charities.

In the charity section of the Monzo app, I’d love to see local charities that I can support. This would also help people who aren’t familiar with them or the work they do in their community.

The Co-op lets local charities apply to be part of their scheme, so I think this could work really well with Monzo too.

It’s a lot of extra admin for Monzo. Extra admin = extra cost, for something that won’t increase their bottom line. So never going to happen.

The cynical part of me thinks the charity stuff was always just to give good vibes to the type of customer that cares about this, it was never something Monzo truly wanted / cared about.
