How about them saving a few quid by not sending out your PIN in the post seeing as itās visible in the app?
Iād go one further and say banks shouldnāt send out physical cards by default now, only if one is requested.
Half the accounts I have open are for the included benefits, Iāll never use the card, and if I did Iād just add it to Apple Pay.
Obviously that would require Lloyds to fix their Apple Pay issues firstā¦
Cards should also be on request. I have lots of plastic that has never left the house.
It is for that reason I donāt have a Revolut physical card. That also saved me the fee.
I think for high street banks, an option in the app to say you donāt want a card could work. Iāve got a lot of family members who just donāt do app banking / Apple Pay. My dad only just got a smart phone and doesnāt have/want to use online banking. My grandad, who recently just passed away didnāt even have the internet. For app only/first banks to opt in for a card might be more suitable.
I agree there should be an option, Iāve also seen banks stop sending cards if theyāre not used.
I wouldnāt want to rely only on my phone to make payments, especially in an emergency. Even though google pay is my default option having a physical card as a backup is handy in case anything ever happened to my phone, like lost, stolen, ran out of battery, software bug, etc.
Oh totally, I am the same, I always carry a few cards just in case.
However I do have some accounts that I never use the card with, so itās pointless me having one.
Had a right good battle with the Lloyds app today trying to scan in a cheque ![]()
I have always scanned with no issues
My RBS debit card expired last month and I havenāt been sent a replacement. Iām not even going to request one as it was only for the collection anyway.
I rarely use my physical cards, but if my phone was unavailable for any reason, then itās a necessary back stop.
Has everyone got their switching offer cash by now? I havenāt received anything yet. Perhaps I didnāt qualify ![]()
I opened an account on 29th Jan through a referral link, switch completed 9th Feb. Havenāt received either Ā£50/Ā£250.
Iām not technically eligible so wonāt be chasing it. Free Disney plus is a bonus.
My brother used my referral link to do the Premier switch a few days ago so might get Ā£50 from that, as heās never had an account with LBG before.
Takes about 21 days from switch completion date.
Today is 22 working days from my completion date. I havenāt got any confirmation texts either.
The Coop bank was much better at this (but of course I was definitely eligible for it), they sent an email right after the switch had been completed stating what I had to do next and the deadline, and then another email as soon as I had completed everything and I had qualified.
Call the switching team, some people got theirs that way.
I got paid by Lloyds but didnāt get any notification about the payment. I got letters confirming switch completion.
Anybody here done the £50 Refer a Friend? What was the timeline like?
if you had multiple current accounts, did it seem to go into your āfirst/mainā one?
I think I recall itās paid into the longest standing account.
Ā£250 went in this morning. Switch completed 9th Feb.
I have just had a weird situation at Sainsburyās few minutes ago. My Lloyds WE got declined with Apple pay.
No notification from Lloyds and transaction didnāt show at all in the app. I immediately tried chip and PIN for the same card, same message of PoS, Card Declined. Still no notification.
I then tried Apple pay again and it worked.
I donāt even know if it were a terminal issue or Lloyds issue.
Before the payment the self checkout machine couldnāt transfer my shop from the scanner, still remained on screen showing the QR code asking me to scan yet the scanner asked me to put it back to the cradle. A store staff came and manually scanned them in again and went to payment screen.
I didnāt want to lose my cashback that is why I insisted on the Lloyds card.
