šŸŽ Lloyds Banking Group Chat

Got another response, apparently my card is also blocked now, they never texted, messaged or anything like that. Seems like they just blocked it and assumed that I would call them?

For fraud purposes, there is a limit on how much can be spent through Apple Pay before we will ask you to use other verification methods like Chip and Pin, This is industry wide and as mentioned amounts may differ depending on the store used.

I can see a payment of £7.99 was declined due to a security check were our fraud team wanted to confirm this was made by you.

To get the block removed you can call the team and a colleague will be happy to assist and discuss further

Have to give up with Lloyds I think

Maybe they were just shocked at the price of that Pasty!

Barclays do this. It’s really not good enough.

They confirmed now that alongside the Apple Pay limit that I hit, my card was also blocked for trying to buy a Cornish Pasty at Waterloo Station on a Friday evening - something I’ve probably done at least once every couple of weeks in the same location, with the same card, for a couple of years.

They won’t unblock it until I call the fraud team about this potential pasty fraud transaction

Hopefully it’s unblocked quickly, and then move onto a different bank

Rightly so! :joy: daylight robbery.

Spoke to my account manager at Lloyds International and he said that some new account features are going to be introduced next year. I did try to get more information out of him but he wouldn’t say much.

Lloyds International Plus is already a quite good account i feel but I wouldnt say no to more benefits and features.

I also got a random declined transaction with an ultra card with no communication from Lloyds. And it’s also not like you can call them at 8pm when all their departments are closed after 3pm .

Not had any limits imposed on Apple Pay yet. Will just stop using them for transactional banking if that happens. Sounds like regressing.

Eurgh. I had this but with the physical card and it was a key factor in me going back to HSBC. I’ve never known a bank like Lloyds for being spooked about people spending money.

Bizarre really, I just got off the phone to the fraud team and they said there is no block on my card and I must have just hit that unknown (to them or me) Apple Pay limit. They said I should always take my card with me in case this happens as it’s only Apple Pay that will get blocked, not the card itself.

Lloyds and Apple Pay just don’t mix.

If I start getting payments blocked because of this then I’ll be moving away from Lloyds.

Hopefully not Lloyds causing friction early so when they release their wallet stuff they can claim no limits etc

Weirdly, I had a prompt off Curve saying to verify my ID as I’d not used it in a few months.

Lloyds and customer support don’t mix well either

Tell me more about this. I’m a new Lloyds customer and haven’t had any Apple Pay issues yet.

That said, my card was just declined for the first time an hour ago while paying for a cab with Apple Pay. I used the chat on app and apparently I hit my daily Apple Pay limit per the robot - had no idea I had a limit for Apple Pay?

I take it that there’s no Google pay limit like that? I’ve paid Ā£2500 in one go with no issues before now.

My sudden desire to try Lloyds has… diminished…

Just don’t remove your card from Apple Pay too many times as they end up blocking it for your device.

Never seen limits imposed by Apple Pay though.

I wouldn’t touch Lloyds with a barge pole at this rate :joy:

I would move if I had that too as I only ever really use Apple Pay, virtually never the physical card. Saying that I’ve been with them for 6 years now and never had a card payment declined either Apple Pay or with the card so fingers crossed
