I’m cautiously optimistic about this. DC have a way of managing to ruin everything they touch, but Joaquin Phoenix is excellent

Not getting excited about this. For me the lack of true origin for the Joker is what makes them so good.

Very true! I wonder why DC avoid cementing good origin stories when it worked ‘well’ with Christian Bale’s Batman.
Guess it may be down to directors too though.

Nolan specifically made a point of Joker telling different stories to people. First time he told an origin I was slightly pissed, then came the different story shortly after. Master stroke.
