iOS 26

I’ve just had a look at my Visited Places and can’t help feeling underwhelmed by the state of my life

I forgot about this. Just checked it out and mines even more underwhelming than yours. One place, twice.

How come mine are not categorised?

The categorisation didn’t appear until yesterday. Nine places and about a week of visits.

ETA: I’ve just discovered that there is another categorisation; Cities. If you visit Burger King at Chieveley Services on the M4 you will have visited the city of Thatcham (and unlocked the “Dining” category).

Let me wait for mine. It looks like it tracks places where I used Apple pay or those I navigated to using Maps app

I guess that it does track those, but I’ve deleted places which I was near but hadn’t navigated to or spent at.

I have also seen a few I haven’t been to. And few prompts of Were you at ABC on date xyz?
Also my local Sainsbury’s store is always detected as Argos, yes there’s an Argos inside.

This happened to me yesterday. I used Apple Wallet in Sainsbury’s but it still came up as Argos.

I annoyingly went to a John Lewis with a Waitrose in yesterday; bought some expensive things in John Lewis on my Amex then a few bits from Waitrose on my Monzo with 8% cashback.

Turns out it’s a Waitrose with a John Lewis in it. Missed out on the larger cashback

Alas, I did not visit the first class lounge. Don’t work in Tech, Kids

Anyone else having issues with the Passwords app since the upgrade to iOS 26?

Previously, if I changed a password on a site I’d be offered the opportunity to use a strong password and to store that password in the Password app.

Now it doesn’t automatically store it, it just keeps the old password stored, so I have to go through the rigmarole of the “forgotten password” flow.

I’m contemplating downloading and using Bitwarden now, in the hope that it works better. Unless anyone has a better idea.

Not just the Password app. Bitwarden is also doing this more since iOS 26. It must be something to do with the Safari changes, I guess.

Can’t say I’ve had this as yet. Seems to work really well.

I’ve not had as many bugs of late either. Even the one which was impacting camera quality seems to have gone.

Anyone else on the beta that stoped getting parked car location around 7 October? That is also the last date I had visited places get registered.

So apart from the weird typing bugs where autocorrect randomly capitalises words and inserts some gobbledygook here and there, my Siri suggestions in spotlight has mixed up the names and icons.

Something that I’m not sure if I’m remembering incorrectly, but only seems to have started doing this since iOS 26 is when I’m driving, I have my phone stuck to my dashboard and I used to be able to say ‘Siri Take me home’ and even if the phone was locked, it’ll unlock the phone, open up Maps and plot my route home. It was handy for times when I didn’t normally need directions (ie - it’s a trip I’ve made many times) but something happens (accident, roadworks etc).

However, now when I ask that, instead it just says ‘Sorry, you’ll need to unlock your phone first to do that but I wouldn’t recommend that while you’re driving’.

Is there some setting in iOS that I haven’t found yet which will let me ask Siri for directions while it’s locked and it’ll open up Maps and show me the route again?

I think you have to do it like at least once as mines been the same, especially annoying in new places and I need a petrol station while doing 70 on a motorway :worried:

Try doing it when you’re stationary, should give the same response when locked.

Tbh I wouldn’t expect it to unlock your phone at all on any version of iOS using Siri so I am not sure how this worked. Was it a full unlock or and overlay?

I am wondering if faceid has been tweaked and before it was seeing you to allow you to be unlocked where as now it doesn’t.
