iOS 18

Where from? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Sky.

Ā£720 for the Pro alone. I wouldnā€™t get AppleCare.

Thatā€™s insanely cheap. The phone is Ā£999 from Apple.

Buy it

I got it wrong, itā€™s over 36 months not 24. Quite a misleading website

So itā€™s not 720? :stuck_out_tongue:

Itā€™s not as if Sky hides the contract length, but it could be a bit bigger (not the phone you want I think, just an example)

I get mine from sky. Since Iā€™m unlikely to keep the phone past 24 months anyway I sign up for the 36 on the full expectation sky will offer me a good deal for the next one. Get it sim free and then pair with EE. Have done for years, way cheaper than O2 etc.

EDIT: I should say, when you get to the 24 month mark and become ā€œeligibleā€ for the swap they let you do this without additional costs and you just pay the new monthly device, since the trade in value (if youā€™ve looked after it) covers whatā€™s left.

For the first time, Iā€™ve bought a phone case that Iā€™m actually going to use just to make sure Sky is happy with it at the end of the 24 months

100% while glancing it looks to be a 24 month contract.

Well done for your maths.

Yours, with depreciation is probably the same price if not less. :eyes:

No chance itā€™s Ā£720 after 4 months. :stuck_out_tongue:

But you should definitely get one. Treat yourself youā€™ve been sick, and itā€™s a good get well reward

Iā€™m still pondering but Iā€™m not sure itā€™ll be much different to my 14 Pro. Iā€™d probs not use AI, and the feedback on categorisation looks :poop:

Do you find you use any of it productively? Iā€™ve not toyed with any AI tbh. I have Perplexity and only used it twice

I love the summary stuff, and the updated Siri functionality is due out in 18.4 supposedly so Iā€™m hopeful thatā€™ll be a big step forward.

I donā€™t use the categorisation on mail - but I turned it off in gmail years ago too. These things never categorise how I want it to be.

Ultimately itā€™ll be faster, and newer than your 14. But honestly just wait till 18.4 beta comes out and see what people say about the updated Siri first imo

Wife had a phone from Sky, the 13. Trade in value was zero even though In perfect condition. Think they basically just wrote off the contact that was remaining.

I got the battery replaced in my 14 Pro when the 16 came out. Feels like a new phone. Hanging onto this one for a couple more years, the new ones never have anything exciting anymore.

Nothing, I bought a pair of jeans from Leviā€™s.

Im not entirely trusting of these swap schemes in general, but no harm in trying to redude the damage to the phone just in case

Happy forum anniversary day :grinning:

The one thing on my wish list for iOS 19 is categorisation in the Wallet app.

Keep cards at the top, but then have loyalty cards and other passes in categories like shopping, travel, hotels, etc. itā€™s getting hard to wade through them all.

Most of the time summary has been good and when it hasnā€™t worked itā€™s been a simple misunderstanding of whatā€™s written.

This time was the first that Siri justā€¦ auto corrected something to create a completely different thing.

Two texts from the fiancƩ:

  1. Responding to a text I sent about my tie at work
  2. Saying he had a lot of H&S things to do at work

Siri I suppose was linking them together, saw the tie comment but then just changed H&S to H&M.

All of these make me laugh to be fair. One of them was a response to me saying I canā€™t wait to be home and under the covers it was so cold and Siri was harsh at a glance:

At what point when you get these, like the last one, and think ā€œoooh someoneā€™s having a bad dayā€ before you realise Siri is adding the attitude?
