I wish I could open a CC right now…
That’s me out then
I sometimes feel like Monzo is just one big trial or test machine.
All banks/businesses are, or at least should, be doing some sort of testing, new offers, marketing to different people.
We just see how the sausage is made with Monzo.
And occasionally sold in partnership with Greggs.
They do, but barely anything seems to come of these tests.
I’m also not sure that many banks do A/B tests so frequently. Have a sign up bonus or an offer sure, but everyone gets the same offer in the same period. Not “you might” get one or the other or none. It’s very… well, I won’t say so as not to upset folk
It’s just a mind trail but it’s just noticeable that so many tests go on for so much of the app.
Sometimes? It’s the greatest beta product ever released.
Currently whenever I make a payment on Flex and split it, when that split is paid it goes into my current account. This can make it tricky to keep track of what’s been paid back, and what needs to go into my Flex account, especially when there’s a few different payments being split at once.
When splitting, it would be great to be able to select “pay direct to Flex” as an option, so that when the split is paid it goes straight into paying off that expense early.
Hey Tom – welcome to the community! Thanks for the feedback, I’ll share it with the team.
I recently accepted one of these offers for Flex - 1% cashback for 2 months, up to £100.
So far so good, but I didn’t realise that 2 months of cashback starts from the day I applied, rather than when I choose to activate or start using Flex. Not a huge issue, but if I had known then I might have waited until later in April to apply (so I could take advantage of it while on holiday in June!)
I would happily jump on one of these offers - I assume they’re targeted, but where did you see it? was it a banner at the top of your homescreen?
It was a banner that said something like “1% cashback on everything” and clicking that linked to a page about applying for a Flex Credit Card which had the details about 2 months, £100 limit and the exclusions (so not quite “everything”).
Found these on Reddit. Looks like offers to get people signed up.
I’m starting to think being first to Monzo functionality isn’t beneficial
Sadly, I don’t have flex but I haven’t been offered these.
Were you offered Flex Build? As that doesn’t include any offers.
Nope, purchase.
Though, it may be because I have done the eligibility check before the offers started and it just kept that same credit limit and things.
It isn’t.
Other than getting the product first, new customers get more stuff for “testing”.
My son signed up on…Saturday (maybe) and he wasn’t offered anything like this either.
It’s beneficial to Monzo, customers who are eager to sign up as soon as possible without needing any extra convincing
I signed up with the 1% cashback offer when it first appeared in my app, maybe if I’d held off it might have updated to a 2% offer to get me across the line
Do I get the offer before I do an eligibility check, after, or once I apply and am accepted?
