Ah right, no, I know that they can be, that wasn’t my point… my point was if they are not transferred as part of the switch, because you have no direct debits set up on the old account you are switching over for example, when can you set up new direct debits on the new B account and still qualify for the £250 bonus?
As I was pointing out, the T&Cs seem to imply that they must be set up after the switch has been completed. So at the moment my B account is open, but the switch has not completed so if I set up the direct debits now, using my B account details, I wouldn’t qualify?
As I understand it, either transferring two DDMs using CASS or setting up two DDMs after switch completion and to make a payment before 62 days, then you’ll qualify.
Oh, I already logged in to set up the standing orders etc but you are right, I didn’t say log in in the 62 days. I have the app and logged in via Yorkshire Bank login. I will amend the above.
Not from B, but Natwest sent me a text yesterday saying “they were sorry I was switching” even though I hadn’t used the account in 7 years and had a non-used £2,000 overdraft just sat there gathering dust waiting for a fraudulent transaction to make me poorer.
In other news, my B card arrived today! What I do like about it is it has the account number and the ‘almost Monzo’ sort code on it (05-00-05).
The thing is that my understanding of the T&C is that you need to log in after the switch date (within 62 days). So, you may wish to login the next day or so, just to be save.
edit: paragraph 6 of the conditions:
Log into one or more of the following digital services provided by CYB, within 62
days of the switch completion date - Internet Banking, Mobile Banking apps or the
B App
Maybe. On the other hand they send a nice reminder of the steps needed to collect the payout to you, so if they really wanted to weasel out of it, they wouldn’t need to do that. But I’ve been wondering about it too.
(But now the software tells me I’ve been talking too much, and should others give a chance to voice their views too, so I’ll shut up )
