Working here.
Right. I’m seeing the list of transactions there but they are hours late. Not getting the push notifications, though.
I’m putting this down to the latest iOS beta, at least for me this is when they stopped working.
They have been as instant as yours up until this point. Now, correlation != causation of course so might be a slightly wider issue but it’s the only one thing I can think.
Even a delete/restart/reinstall and reset of phone didn’t resolve it.
I’m latest beta, though I don’t use my account so can’t say if there were issues over the past few days.
The plot thickens
I’m latest beta and still no transaction notifications, just used my card and nada. It’s there in pending though.
Must be rolling out the fix, I’d imagine.
I’m having a similar issue. I’m still getting transaction notifications but I get the same error as @JIMMWX when trying to view my notification history in the HSBC app.
“Something went wrong. Sorry, we’re having trouble loading your notifications”.
Glad it’s not just me. My partner is also with HSBC and all is working fine for them.
Wonder if it’s a clash/issue with amount of products you have? I’m solely investment account and bank account so not much processing involved maybe.
Same for me
Only account I actually use is the Rewards credit card and I’ve had notifications in the last few days.
I doubt it since I’ve had no issues for a while, but it’s a possibility.
Strangely I now have them back, but they are super delayed, and I still can’t see them in the notification history.
I’m latest beta and no issues at all even today using my card, so it might just be an issue affecting a few.
Does anyone with technical know how know how this sort of thing happens? People with the same set up having different results from the same app?
I’d imagine a container (dataset) with a set of users on an environment (storage) corrupted and they identified the fix before it impacted wider users.
So if you have as example 50 but only 5 are impacted then 45 won’t notice any different.
I’m now at getting notifications but I can’t see them in app stage. So they must have rolled out the fix for the first part and are now working on the latter.
Slight update, for no-one.
All transaction notifications working as expected now, consistently. But strangely I can’t view them in app anymore. Not that this really mattered.
They’re also looking at the type of notifications you might get too - on their studio. Including whether global money should have more tailored regional notifications (Any would be a start!)
Definitely felt doing the survey that someone had finally found what Monzo was and how it worked notification wise.
HSBC have launched investment goals. What would be an excellent feature is only marred by the fact you can’t delete them after creation and you can’t choose existing investment accounts to align them to.
I suppose if you don’t have investments yet this is a great way to get into it. The fees are lower than others (Monzo, Chase ) and actually it works really well.
But annoying somewhat if you have existing accounts and the only way to assign money to a goal is to setup a new fund, transfer out of an existing fund, and put the money back.
Ah well.
Can you amend them on the website?
Nice touch though. Wish they’d revamp the home page a bit.
Nope. And they (customer service) can’t delete them either. Must be coming in a future update.
On a sidenote, the latest update has closed the loop on transactions. I’ve not got the history back too. Only took them a week to fix it.
Which considering HSBC, not too bad, they seem to be pushing forward with some pace currently.
Just signed up to HSBC after having a clear out of accounts. Closed a good few. I do not like clutter .
Setup was really easy. Got my card etc really quick. Quite like the layout. My transaction notifications don’t work but it does say it can take up to 7 days to work after activating.
Think I’ll keep my FD till early next year to see if push notifications appear as I am unsure if I like their app more.
Also opened up a revolut account. Hate it.
Really? What do you not like about it? It’s a bit busy but transaction information is well laid out.
The HSBC app is ok, a little on the basic side. I do like the bill part where they track your direct debits.
Having both the FD app while neater looking is light years behind HSBC. The latter definitely has the more functional app and things seem to be improving at pace.
By the way, notifications for FD have been “coming soon” for at least four years now.
Yea I didn’t realise it has been in progress for so long with the excuse that they want it to be perfect before push notifications are released. Have a contact in FD and they mentioned no money. Out of date systems, time spent fixing issues the current system has. Must be the case of HSBC wanting the new customers and spending the money on their app.
Signed up to the HSBC customer studio and it seems a lot more active than fdesign. With ideas etc actually being replied to by HSBC.
