I don’t understand why Monzo can’t just say that they can’t validate information via credit reference agencies. (And I also object to the hold that private companies have over our lives. I might have mentioned this before). ---

The easiest way is to add a feature of manually adding address through the App. As anyhow they can verify home address with other references like monthly utility bills etc. In crux i realized that it is not getting resolved quickly , and hence need to push towards other apps unfortunately. ---

It’s not like that can claim by keeping quiet it doesn’t break some kind of commercial secrecy about where they get data from ---

My address shows correctly with all credit rating agencies (just checked) and have a great credit rating but need more credit to be excellent. That blows my mind, because I manage my money and don’t spend what I don’t have I’m only great. My house is the only house on that postcode not that that’s relevant but this is a real pain in the back side. ---

You don’t need more credit to be excellent. They are telling you that you do because if you click through and take out a card, they’ll earn a commission. The credit score number is irrelevant and only there to sell you things. Do the basics, don’t over-extend yourself, don’t have constant hard searches etc. and you’ll be fine. Whether it says great or excellent has zero impact on anything. ---

I tried this and all 3 found my address and royal mail confirmed it’s correct but it still doesn’t show up on the Monzo app. They (Monzo) said they would escalate it to a specialist team last year.
