I wish we’d thought of that :bulb:

:warning: Please don’t flex your Flex cards… or you’ll be ordering a replacement very quickly :warning:

Brillant news, and the card looks great.

If this could default to “pay in full next month” with the option to edit the payment plan - even better. (Or allow selection of your own preference as default.)

If that’s an option, I’d default to using this as my preferred card, over my M&S Mastercard.

Signed up so fingers crossed!

Amazing!! This now means that when I go away end of the month, I can use this card for the deposit at the cabin! (If i get it!)

Nice work team! :tada:

Does this mean I can use my Flex card as a deposit hold credit card for hotels and the like? I assume given all the S75 stuff, the actual physical card is a credit card?

Would it work for deposits or does the process of that cause a wonky?

You should be able to - was confirmed an other thread that it’s all good…

I can order a Metal Flex Card also? Just filled the form :see_no_evil: so exiting

No. @TomMills confirmed up the thread that all Flex cards are the same; no metal.

Ok thanks, I can accept that :joy:

Why are people thinking Flex will come with a metal version? Metal cards cost Monzo a lot, and you’re paying a monthly fee to have one on Premium.

This reminds me of those bendy pencils they used to have in my school library!

Fun to play with but always eventually snapped. Would have a pretty nice and unique gimmick to the card though.

I get why the squiggle is the coral colour but can’t help but wish it was transparent.

It’ll look transparent when you look at it in the dark and have no retinas left :eyes:

:joy: Easy solution, just pay 50 pound to buy it is ok… no one ask it for free

I might replace my Barclaycard with Flex if it can be used at hotels, etc. I’d be interested to know:

How does it work with auth charges? Does it ask me to pick a plan (and potentially pay) before it settles, or would I only do that once it settles?

Does it still take first instalment as soon as I make a transaction/pick a plan? Or is it delayed to first payment date now?

How does it handle refunds?

I suppose there is a pay in one option, too.

Refunds are a weird one - it tries to connect it up to the original transaction if it can, but if it isn’t able to you just get the money in your account, and then you can just go pay that transaction off manually.

Doesn’t it depend on how the initial transaction was made?

I’ve used my flex card for purchases and had refunds and they have always worked without issue.

Depends on a lot - some merchants don’t refund against the original transaction, some do it as a different one etc. etc. Monzo do their best to marry the two up.

Asking is free though :man_shrugging:

It would have been cool to have a separate set of physical card details, like Chase, so you didn’t need to re-order a physical card if online details were compromised. I suppose a single set of details is simpler though, so swings and roundabouts!

I do really like the card design, I think it’s a slick look but also unmistakably Monzo - and different enough from other Monzo cards to stand out.

Theoretically, this could be possible with card controls - physical Chip & PIN, magstripe and contactless switched off, online payments on? You would need to make the card numberless as Chase do though, to be safe.
