Depending on your date of entry to the Civil Service as it’s 5 months now then 5 months half pay before pension rate hits

Any idea when you need to have started before to stick with the six months?

I’ve been there a long long time but I think it might have been around 10 years ago possibly when Alpha pension was introduced

That would go back to April 2015 or possibly April 2022 as the McCloud judgement might well apply to that too.

Our lot have already sent out an email to say they won’t meet the April 2025 deadline.

This whole sickness thing is interesting because for me currently if I’m off sick, I’ll ping my boss, rearrange any meetings I have that day and then that’s it.

We get 6 months full pay anyway so as long as you’re only off a few days logging isn’t really a thing that people do.

Same goes for my last employer, they were a tiny company and their policy wasn’t anywhere near as generous, but I’m not sure the ‘HR department’ could really be bothered logging anything below a few days off.

Had a chuckle to myself while reading last night when one of the characters of my book is the assistant manager at Midland Bank.

Midland Bank used to have such an cool logo. They should ring the brand back imo…

I think this changed a bit, I’d have to check my contract but I’m sure it was something like 1 month accrued full pay for every year up to 5 or 6 years.

I got full for my week off in January, weirdly on my anniversary.

Ive not checked in fine detail as all my team have been in CS for a while and i’ve been here 35 years :scream: so still get the 6 months etc

Just checked and it’s 1 month full 1 month half, increased each year up to 5 months full and 5 months half.

Think my workplace I get 8 weeks, currently 2 weeks in off sick. Was my work that suggested I go off on the sick.

Blurgh, what a :poop: day. Woke up grumpy and stayed grumpy.

At least the days seem to be getting slowly longer though

How did it go?

The root canal procedure itself was painless but I’ve awakened this morning with quite severe swelling. It’s much less painful though.

All going well, should be healed in a week or 2.

The bill at the end was the painful part

Thanks for asking :slightly_smiling_face:

Evening.

Any decent Tele on this weekend? I’ve been binge watching Better call Saul. Got ncis to catch up on then some more walking dead but getting bored of it again.

The only broadcast TV we watch is Gladiators. Cannot WAIT for Saturday!!!
