Anybody played 007 First Light?

Quite fancy getting a new game and it looks decent?

I’m thinking about the Switch 2 so much recently… having my mum ship my Switch to me (along with games) and then I’ll have to buy the Switch 2 when I get a chance to go to Japan.

Do you know if there are any carts (not for piracy) and game dumpers? Probably easier for me to buy the dumper and have my family dump the games and send me the files than carrying it everywhere.

Yes

What a coincidence. I was also planning to go in December(ish).

No idea. While I geographically live near enough Tokyo (one airport away and less than 5 hours landed) I haven’t actually been so can’t comment on the otaku areas like Akihabara.

There is no region locking of switch games but in Japan, they sell a cheaper model that only has Japanese as a system language (first party titles and some others use this setting to decide game language).

Well this may not be the biggest problem in the world for Japanese people - you might want to consider if this is suitable for you. My Japanese certainly isn’t good enough and that’s with a background in Chinese and being able to understand a decent amount of spoken Japanese). The more expensive (by 100,000Ā„) model supports English but AFAIK is only purchasable online via Nintendo, retailers aren’t stocking it.

Fairly sure Ninty have announced a price rise, hitting in the next few weeks/months.

Not till September.

I’ll be buying Switch 2 on Sunday as long as my parents say yes. All the money is sitting in my Monzo ready to go :eyes:

Not surprised. Their production costs probably went up due to all this inflation :balloon:

Might have to go to Japan before September to get the Switch 2!

I also like the asking parents part. It’s always nice to be able to get a second opinion on value of purchases

That’s why it was a no brainer buying on day one. Gone are the days of waiting for a slim version for half the price :frowning:.

Japan prices have already gone up. They’ve given the warning to America and the EU.

Unsure of the accuracy but this is what Siri said

Doesn’t surprise me when their first party games are >Ā£60. Going to need a loan just to get the first few games :sob:

This is what savings are for, you don’t need to take credit out for games.

I assume it was sarcasm btw.

Yes sarcasm indeed. But the games are expensive

They really are. PlayStation isn’t any better.

Gamepass for Xbox still remains the best value imo.

I can never find anything on PSN that I’ve not already played or want to play.

Older non-Nintendo games are cheap as. I bought Hades 2 for £15 a couple of days ago.

You’ll pay top dollar for new Nintendo games but you’ll also be able to sell them for not much less than you got them for.

As @8XE says, per hour the cost works out to pennies. My kids made light work of getting their monies worth out of Mario Kart World. And they’ll likely be playing it 5 years from now.

I had to buy all digital for Xbox as there’s no disk drive. I definitely want to take a trip to CeX at some point and see if I can pick up some decent Switch 1 games for a bit cheaper.

Certainly the games I want to initially get they’re mainly digital only which is fine but it means I can’t resell them

5 year warranty buying a switch 2 from there too.

I’m just going to get the console from Argos. But games will be from CeX hopefully.

I’ve usually done well for games at Argos.

Nintendo Switch 2 purchased from Argos.

I’m not allowed to open it until my last exam on Thursday but I’ve got it, and I’ll see you all on Thursday with some photos of it all set up :eyes:

Thanks to Nationwide (Ā£275), Chase (Ā£50 referral) and NatWest (Ā£25 birthday voucher) I’ve only paid Ā£30 out of pocket.

Some good going there, and self control :joy:

Also, good luck :crossed_fingers:t3:
