Rather than just blocking gambling entirely I feel like the option to set gambling amount limits would be good. So say you set yourself a limit of £50/mo once you have reach that limit you cannot gamble again until it resets.
Yes I know gambling sites already have limit features but when you win any amount it gets added onto the limit which defeats the purpose of setting the limit in the first place. If you’re unaware of what I mean it’s like this:
Deposit limit set at £50/month
Gamble £50 and win £500 then withdraw. (the limit should disable you from depositing anymore because you deposited £50 and reached your set limit, right? No, your new limit is £500 until it resets.)
This is a sneaky way for the companies to allow you to gamble further past your deposit limit likely in the hopes someone gambles back all their winnings.
I understand if someone has gambling issues, yes they should just block it entirely and sign up to Gamstop. But for most people, like myself, we know when to stop and but there is a rare occasion I get carried away and deposit more than I’d have liked to.
Isn’t this a statement followed by a direct contradiction of said statement?
It doesn’t even fix your issue really? Assuming the site adds winnings to your limit, you’re still in the position to gamble away your winnings.
Just means you can’t deposit more, but I can’t see why you would if you’ve just gambled away your winnings (at which point I’d say if you would then deposit more, you’re loss chasing and should be looking at Gamstop).
