Had anyone used Monzo in Gambia and was it widely accepted.

Hello all, I went to The Gambia last week.
I only withdrew cash once, it was at the GT Bank by Senegambia strip. They took Mastercard fine but you had to select ‘credit’ (not current even though I had a current account), and only allowed a maximum of 2000 Dalasi per withdrawal and 150 Dalasi surcharge per withdrawal. I ended up getting around 1 GBP to 63 Dalasi.
However! I’d actually heard taking cash and exchanging in the airport gets the best rates and it was true. I changed money at the airport after landing at 1 GBP to 64 Dalasi.
So I’d actually recommend taking cash with you and changing straight at the airport as the surcharge at GT Bank made it uneconomical.
