Flex refund has disappeared / is not showing

Hi!

I got an app notification this morning that a partial refund for a Flex payment (paid through Flex card) had arrived into my account.

However when checking in the app the Flex purchase has not been adjusted and it’s not showing in my current account either.

I’ve been struggling to get through to anyone on either chat or phone. I understand that a partial Flex refund can cause the refund to go back into the main account but I’m a bit worried it’s not showing there either.

Is this normal and does anyone have experience or suggestions here? Thanks in advance!

Is there another flex entry for the purchase?

It had been misattributed to another Flex payment from the same retailer. Thank you, hadn’t thought to look there.

I suspect the fact that it was a partial not full refund made netting it off against a whole Flex amount impossible so it chose a Flex from the same retailer (perhaps the oldest one?) and adjusted it against that.

I’d assume it would’ve just reversed using the same authorisation it took payment from, unless they issued it another way, and monzo has applied it to oldest first to save interest etc as some cards would.

Can a partial refund be made on the same authorisation? I wonder..

It should generally go through the same authorisation, that’s how they reverse funds.
