I’d love to see an option in Flex where any partial payment I make towards my upcoming monthly payment reduces the amount that’s collected on the normal due date.
For example:
My next Flex payment is £200 due on the 28th
I manually pay £50 on the 10th
Flex should then show £150 remaining due on the 28th
Currently, making a smaller additional payment can effectively go towards the overall Flex balance while the original £200 monthly payment remains due. I think these should be two distinct options.
- Pay towards next payment
Any amount paid reduces the upcoming scheduled payment. £50 paid early against a £200 payment = £150 left to pay on the due date. - Pay extra towards balance
For someone who deliberately wants to overpay/repay Flex faster. In that case, the £50 reduces the overall balance but the normal £200 scheduled payment remains unchanged.
It would also be really useful if Flex showed the progress clearly, e.g. “£50 of £200 paid — £150 remaining on 28 September.”
This would make it much easier to chip away at the upcoming payment throughout the month without accidentally making an overpayment on top of the normal monthly amount.
