1 ) linking pots together - this could be used for say your car so you have different pots for say your petrol, parking, what you put away for MOT, service, insurance. It could also be used for those doing home improvements or saving up for new white goods should things hit the fan. Or even saving for a wedding - think bridal shower, hen do, stag do, dresses, suits, venue, catering, put everything under one big heading like “wedding” “car” or “home improvements” and have like linked sub pots underneath.
Second idea - you have a cashback option already. If we are already opted into it, instead of having to go in and manually apply each cashback offer, use AI and smart spending so if you use your Monzo card then if there is a cashback offer already there then automatically apply it to that purchase.
Just some thoughts. I work in financial services already so I adore your app. You are already leagues ahead of other banks and financial institutions, but these are some ideas to make it even better.
Then just activate all the offers , and then you’ll never miss out. It’s not like Monzo is going to run a Lloyds promotion where it harms you to have pre-activated offers.
I think there’s room for suggestions of Monzo auto applying a cashback offer if it’s 1. Multiple use and 2. Activated on spending at a merchant offered.
There would need to be additional metrics such as me having a 10% single use Tesco offer which gets wasted on a meal deal opposed to my monthly shop. Multi use should just be auto activated IMO.
It’s an over complicated build for minimal reward for Monzo.
Just trying to think how to make the existing features better and easier. For those working incredibly busy lives, time to check cashback offers is just more steps to take when already rushed off your feet.
It would just be amazing if we could have that automatically done so saves customers the worry.
Personally I’d love it if went shopping, made a purchase and suddenly had money back in my account as a surprise. I’d feel well chuffed, but maybe that’s just me .
I think this kinda defeats the purpose of these offers. Brands want to reengage customers. If it’s tucked away in your app and autoactivated, you’re not reengaging anyone.
I get what you mean, but I only buy at places I know I definitely need something at. I dont have the luxury of having enough cash just to go impulse spending, buying random stuff cause there’s a cashback offer at a store.
I buy what I need when I need it and if I get cash back on it happy days
