Error in recieving salary

I have given my Monzo Bank Account details to Poundland to receive my monthly salary but they said they could not proceed because my bank would not allow it. What could the problem be?

Most likely problem is with their system not being up to date. Monzo sort code is new and if a company has not updated it’s systems for ages this can be an issue;

‘Not being up to date’ at this point means ‘Jurassic’.

They’re supposed to update monthly, and the sort code is ~9 months old.
