I contacted Monzo over the phone and via live chat as I made a manual payment before a direct debit was to come out as the manual payment I made has cleared the balance so the direct debit should’ve been processed I contacted Monzo who advised due to me making a manual payment I m not covered by the direct debit guarantee and it’s doe to the merchant to refund me which can take 10 working days but rge merchant advised me so contact Monzo as I could request a direct debit indemnity. I’m just wondering if anyone could advise me of this is correct or not
You can raise a direct debit indemnity through Monzo. Monzo can’t deny this, but they will ask the merchant if the debit was due to be paid.
The merchant could also refund you your manual payment they just wanted to go around it another way.
