Does Monzo app no longer work with iOS 16?

Issue: Monzo asking to update iOS on iPhone8

Details to reproduce: a member of our family is using an iPhone 8 with iOS 16. We can’t update the iOS any further. Today the Monzo app has stopped working saying that the operating system of the phone needs updating, which we can’t do.

Does Monzo now no longer work with devices that are stuck on iOS 16?

iOS18 is now the minimum supported.

There would have been a large banner in the app warning of this for a while.

This phone is 9 years old.

The iOS is also 4 years old.

With the advances in tech, fraud and security issues, it isn’t viable for companies, or more so financial companies, to keep putting money into old systems.
