Do I lose my custom categories if I downgrade from Perks to Free?

As part of a subscription clean-up, I’m downgrading from Monzo Perks to Monzo Extra. Apparently the only way to do this is to downgrade from Monzo Perks to a free account, and then upgrade that to Monzo Extra.

I’m a heavy user of Extra features, and I’m wondering if I will lose them when downgrading to a free account. In particular,

  1. Will I lose my blue Monzo Plus debit card? Will I have to change my card number?
  2. Will I be able keep my custom categories? Will previous transactions in these categories be recategorised? Will I be able to put new transactions in thsee categories?
  3. Will I lose the categories of existing transactions from connected banks? When I resubscribe to Monzo Extra, will these transactions be recategorised?

Any transactions that were already in custom categories will stay in those categories while you switch plans.

You just won’t be able to add anything to your custom categories while your account is free.

As soon as you activate Extra you’ll regain the ability to use/edit them again.

But what about the transactions in custom categories in external accounts? Won’t they lose their categories after the accounts are disconnected and reconnected?
