Watch this be a plus/premium feature
I really wouldn’t care as I don’t want it (and I have Plus anyway) but boy oh boy, this place would explode!
I’m waiting for Alan to pull through for me so I can add prophet, seer and foreseer to my CV.
I shall conveniently forget the following paragraph:
I’ve got my ready, to start eating it. In the dark.
There could be a default dark theme for everyone and perhaps an exclusive one for Plus/Premium.
The app already uses slightly different colours with gradients if you are on Plus or Premium.
It also have an exclusive icon for Plus/premium too, could be why this is taking so long to come out - trying to make it OLED friendly
So. Dark Mode?
- Before midday
- Early afternoon
- Late afternoon
- As the sun sets…
- Early evening
- Deepest darkest night
- it’ll actually be cheque imaging
- surprise! No launch.

If it doesn’t arrive… Monzo ruined Christmas
The amount of us continuously opening the monzo app surely has to hit some records today
No launch trending at 50%
Confirmed! Monzo Community is bruised, battered and pessimistic after 2021.
Didn’t someone say about a week ago that there were no more new features this year?
Officer! Someone has killed my buzz.
(Tbf Alan has gone for no announcement so I’ll glare at him for being Troll-in-Chief should we end the day being light and bright).
There were/are no more software releases until 2022 now.
But certain features are already in there and just need turning on from the servers, so it’s possible to activate feature(s) without a new software version - they’re called ‘feature flags’ and the ones I’m watching are:
boolean name="dark_mode_support_enabled" value="false" />
boolean name="themes_enabled" value="false" />
boolean name="really_dark_theme_enabled" value="false" />
When Monzo switches the flag on, when the app next pings the servers, the updated feature flag is sent to the device and the app will act accordingly.
literally just came to comment they’ll probably launch it at sunset lol
Still no dark mode this is tense
Poll update. Cheque imaging seems oddly popular…
