Take them to court for what?
Complaining to the ombudsman would be a better if you’re not happy after you have made a complaint to Monzo

You can take anyone to court, even Monzo.
Can I still go to court?
Our service isn’t right for all situations. Depending on what’s happened, it might be better for you to go to court. For example, you might want to go to court if you think the loss you’ve suffered is more than we can tell a business to pay you.
We won’t usually look into a problem that a court has already looked into. And if you accept our ombudsman’s final decision, a court won’t look into the same issues.
If you don’t accept the ombudsman’s final decision, you can still take your problem to court. Because the courts take a different approach, their answer might be different to ours.
It is not uncommon for people of Indian descent to go by a literal sounding-out of the initials of their given names. This is more prevalent in South Indians, but is not restricted to them.
I have had an email from execcomplaints@monzo.com please can Thai thread be closed
Places I’ve worked, complaints that have gone to the ceo office are usually forwarded to the manager of the team effected who then advises the ceo office on the response… You get the reply from the CEO office, but they’ve usually had very little to do with the words being sent.
Not saying it’s like that everywhere… but at least monzo aren’t pretending to respond as directors.
Did you get the resolution you wanted? You can’t end it like this…
I’m assuming it is account frozen / closed related?
This thread is giving me some right White Chicks “I’m going to write a letter” vibes.
No it’s fraud related, and I somehow have managed to avoid Monzo fraud detection system on multiple payments to a single payee over three accounts.
I can’t comment future monzo is running an investigation, I have been scared my account is at risk of getting closed but they have said it’s not
So you paid someone three times and you think Monzo should have stopped you?
3 accounts?
So you paid the same person from your Monzo current account, joint account and business account?
No, same person 3 different accounts one that monzo locked and repeated transfers that’s the system should have detected as fraud
Ah ok. So not a single payee, what you believe to be 3 separate accounts all owned by the same person.
Yes, monzo locked his monzo account we are talking a lot of cash being sent over a short period of time per day and it failed to even trigger the fraud system
The fraud system isn’t perfect.
This person may have had his account locked but that doesn’t mean the money you were sending wasn’t legitimate?
Monzo are usually pretty good in instances of fraud, so I think there’s some key points that you’re holding back.
Monzo seem to have a good track record of recovering/reimbursing people who have been a victim of fraud. There’s lots of topics on here if you’d like to have a read.
I’m sure you don’t need to go all the way to director level to get your money back.
You’re not being attacked. Don’t be so dramatic.
If I was “attacking” you, I would have left the tweets up yesterday after you asked me to delete them.
Are anti-fraud checks even applied to outgoing bank transfers? I’m specifically instructing Monzo to transfer X amount to Y account details. Beyond Confirmation of Payee, what should apply here?
I assume they are
Other banks certainly do it when people transfer to Monzo judging by the ‘when will my transfer arrive’ posts we used to get
I will leave the support team deal with this and have asked for thread to be closed
Hopefully you get it sorted soon
Just remember to give them all the detail and evidence you can to support your claim that you were a victim of fraud and I’m sure they’ll get your money back to you asap. Especially if it was another Monzo account.
The best route is to tap into the transaction, scroll to the bottom and click ‘something wrong, get help’ then follow the prompts. Searching for and emailing directors will run the risk of it going ignored or dragging out the process far longer than it needs to be.
