Not so long ago I contacted a few members to pick their brains on how they use the forum and what we could improve (Super helpful, thanks guys! ). After some discussion, it’s apparent that there is plenty of scope to expand on this platform for sharing knowledge and experience, and as a result of this I’m currently examining the possibilities of creating a community page for the website.
There are no concrete plans for the format or content of this page yet, hence why I’m turning to you all for some pointers! It would be great hear of other community web pages you enjoy visiting and why. Recommendations on features & content which you feel is useful, relevant or just attention grabbing would all be really helpful and interesting to know.
As a note, the community page will not replace the community forum, and actually, the closer we can bring or integrate them as complimentary entities the better.
I don’t think I’ve seen a community page before (or if I have, I haven’t recognized it as such) so if anyone has examples to share, as inspiration, it’d be great to see some.
Oh ok so Salesforce’s Success Community home page is another good example.
Recent content from each of the social media channels (it’s great to have a way to make those more accessible) + some high level stats about the community would be a good start.
Is it possible to get to something like the users stats below, for the whole community?
Really like the use of the infographics for user stats here, it’s a great way to see how things are growing.
We have recently discussed doing something similar for customer service data too in keeping with our emphasis on transparency.
I think there may be a plugin for ‘whole community stats’. I’m going to have a rummage in Discourse. It may be the case we use a similar sort of display to present this information on the community page.
