Interesting that they do Google Pay! I have a second Android phone so could add it there…

I do love the unique designs that Bank of China put out.

Cards have arrived - just waiting for the telephone banking security code now so that I can set up online/app banking.

Still beyond me why HSBC felt the need to ruin a great card design just for the sake of going vertical.

Also it bothers me that they just decided to mirror the same background graphic for the debit and credit cards.

I heard it was a requirement by Visa now?

Saying that, they also did it for their MasterCard, where Monzo haven’t, so it can’t be a requirement for MasterCard

What is? Making cards vertical? Or having a really uninspiring design?

Making the cards vertical, the crappy design is down to the banks

Nationwide Visa cards are landscape and they got a new design not too long ago

Revolut Visa cards are also horizontal, and my FD credit card.

Huh, I heard it was a requirement, seems I was misinformed

Visa Card guide

Some of those guideline designs look as if they were a result of an Apprentice task to design a new debit card…

Ugh I still find vertical designs painful

FWIW having had the old (lions) and the new (as @mikez) I rather like the new design. Perhaps the vertical lion might have been a good choice. Just wish that First Direct would also go vertical, then I can get a vertical wallet

I know that I’m in the minority but I actually prefer the new HSBC cards to the lions.

I noticed that when I was taking the photo. It reminds me of the camera view of a colonoscopy
