I think Asia have skipped the whole hardware life cycle and merchants fees altogether and embrace QR pay. It’s a shame consumer protection is not on par with Europe though.
No Barclaycard branding anywhere?
it’s on the back
Hate how much I love/need/want this. I’m so sad N26 left the UK before I got an account with them, transparent card designs are hands down my favourite
the closest I’ve got is the Chromatic Revolut one that’s a tiny bit translucent if the light is just right.
You can still get an N26 account
they got fined by BaFin for lack of checks and that still holds true today; they don’t require a visa or other resident information for British nationals and you don’t have to be a tax resident of any of their supported countries (only a resident, which they require 0 proof of).
Could literally put a German McDonalds as your address and add your NIN as the tax ID.
More fraud?
It’s no wonder you flee to China ![]()
No, it is the institution’s fault for not verifying. ![]()

Like those who take on huge debt then fail to pay and go on Reddit asking for ways to pin the lender for irresponsible lending as they didn’t do the checks “properly” after them declaring false information about their income and finances.
I think it’s still fraudulent on the customers behalf even if the company didn’t check, the customer is abusing a loophole providing incorrect information for financial services they’re not usually entitled to.
As for irresponsible lending, it’s usually the customer taking on more debt than they actually wanted in most circumstances and just want someone to blame as they can’t control their spending.
Prime example is a loan to pay off their credit cards which the lender would have considered, but then they just spend on their credit cards again instead of closing them.
I agree. Knowingly giving false or inaccurate information is fraud.
It is, but it is always someone else’s fault.
The SLC bill alone was more than enough!
People really think the consumer duty is a get out of jail free card sometimes, infuriating.
On what specifically? I think to an extent the information requests have become eggregious. Probably why some people fill it with silly things. Not me though, as I’m terrified of getting all my money stuck in China.
I might be able to post photos of the ICBC World Plus soon. Applied this week, took me 2h in the branch. 200rmb a year annual fee, but 2% cashback on foreign purchases. Mastercard
The Muji one is disappointing considering how excellent and minimal their design usually is.
If you are interested in details about these cards, it is easy to select an image and use Google Lens!
