Bank of China HKD credit card.
Slightly off-topic: has anyone managed to get the PayPal debit card on Apple PayPal? Iāve tried adding it manually or via the app, but it wonāt allow me
Mine adds, no issues. Donāt know why I donāt use it to be honest, 1% cashback is pretty decent.
I have over 10,000 points worth over £100 and PayPal never lets me spend them. Keeps saying this card cannot be used to redeem points. Seems like a scam
I guess, theoretically, any card could be made DIY numberless with the right chemicals/solvent/???
Also is there some rule that the numberless cards donāt need a signature strip, since those are the only oneās Iāve seen without them.
I donāt think any card requires it (anymore?). Neither of my Monzo cards have one (Flex and Perks Bold Coral) but they do have numbers.
Quite a few EMI cards donāt put the signature strip on the back anymore either.
When I get home Iāll check my collection and see what cards have ditched the signature strip.
Monzo obviously dropped theirs, and I believe I saw a Reddit post saying their new Starling Joint debit card didnāt have the signature strip anymore a few days ago.
Lloyds is just a tiny box now which idk how youād fit a signature into.
ah yeah Barclaycard has a tiny box too. Just looked through my big wallet at the cards I donāt use, Zopa and Curve have removed it too.
Starling says in their Q&Aās that youāre not required to sign the card.
None of the cards in my collection are signed either way, and if a shop person wants to have a hissy fit for the rare occasion I do use a physical card, then so be it.
They donāt even look most of the time. I never usually bother signing cards and Iāve only ever had somebody tell me to sign it once (a return at John Lewis ~8 years ago), and even then she handed me a pen and it wasnāt an issue. Not even sure why I used the physical card, mustāve been before Apple/Google Pay transactions became basically limitless or something.
Banks with no signature strip
Monzo, Monzo Business, Starling (reported, not seen), Chase, Zempler Bank, Zempler Bank Personal, Triodos, Yonder, LHV, zopa, iFast, medirect, TSB ATM Card
EMIs with no signature strip
Wise, Trading212, Curve, SumUp, HyperJar, FairFX, Krak, Coinbase, PayPal
If someone can give input for Kroo, Revolut, first direct and Monese ![]()
Thereās no reason these days for anyone apart from the cardholder touching their card.
This year Iāve found myself not taking any wallet or physical cards out with me. Apple Pay for everything, should my phone fail Iāve got my watch.
Emergency cash I can withdraw from an ATM using the NatWest app.
I do think weāre not that far away from banks no longer offering physical cards as standard. Itāll just take one to take the first leapā¦
Can this be done with any ATM?
First Direct issued last week came with a signature strip.
Only Tesco and NatWest/RBS ATMs
We have a few Tesco ATMs around and one by Natwest. Will keep this in mind when needed. On Sunday the wife needed cash from the ATM but the Chase card I thought was in the car could not be found.
The kidās card came in handy.
I believe itās Ā£250 limit as well.
Although living in London and only ever used in an emergency, Tesco/NatWest ATMs and £250 limit is fine for me.
The limit is £130
