Collected Thoughts on Card Design (Part 2)

My card has got the new design aswell. I don’t mind it, it’s just a bit plain… and where’s the yellow come from?

i wish this was the the physical card design

Mines still the old design in Apple :+1:

Oh lord. I’ve been patiently waiting for them to refresh the debit card to something less disgusting and this is what they landed on?

Mine is still the old design in app and Wallet

I think that new design is theft-proof.

I don’t dislike this card, but why the yellow? I’m aware it’s the same as previous designs but what’s the link back to heritage.

Is this a new Rooster card?:rofl::rofl:

Hopefully I’ve not ordered this card too soon. As I’m guessing it’ll take them a little while to get onto the new card stock? Or do the big banks not care about card wastage?

Also I’m prepared to be shouted at for this opinion, but I don’t hate the new card design as a replacement for the NatWest one. It’s a shame they’ve gotten rid of the purple RBS/Ulster design though. That was beautiful.

It should have been chosen as the default across the group, in my opinion.

This new card design is showing here:

Someone on Reddit did say that NatWest told them that the new design is only for the under 18 accounts. Although, that can’t be true as some on here have posted screenshots?

I’m now on Select for all three brands and I’ve got the new card design in Google Wallet.

Card was posted this morning so I shall see what turns up in a few days.

Whoever made that design have not thought about trypophobia.

I actually like the design of Rooster card though.

None. I found the culprit.

The new brand isn’t flat. It’s three-dimensional, like people. It’s not stationary. It’s agile, like we need it to be. The new three-dimensional graphic language is as recognisable as it is bold, colourful and new. It takes the overlooked cubes from the heart of the original identity and enlivens them to move, express and invent like a true 21st-century brand.

They have several designs. I have swapped a few for my collection, I now have the special edition for England (free)

On a non-card related note, I’ve always found art works of animals dressed in human clothes a little strange (and sometimes, not a little creepy)

Someone’s queried it on X and this was the response :+1:

I don’t know why Rachel from NatWest is inviting Olly to DM them. As if that’s going to make any difference to the card design!

Well she’s Rachel from Accounts

I wonder where the inspiration behind NatWest’s new design came from.
