Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

I know what you mean I think it’s the most
Boring one in my collection! My fave ones are my monzo card, TSB and Metro :sunglasses:

I really don’t like Metro Bank’s logo so I’m not a fan of their card. The logo itself is boring but its made even worse by the really ugly red M on a blue background. I really hate it :joy:

I currently just have Nationwide FlexAccount, Virgin Money, and Santander. A lot of red but red is a good colour. I also like the Nationwide one as it’s a dark blue. Not a big fan of light blue cards.

Slightly random but seeing the Nationwide cards reminded me of this - Why do all of the Nationwide account types have Flex in their names? Is there a meaning to it?

Your TSB doesn’t have the large circle outlines on it?

I think the circle are harder to see with certain light angles which is probably why they can’t be seen on that photo.

I’m not revisiting this conversation but for all the hard of understanding who keep flagging my opinion, replace some of the words in your head.

Haha :joy: i see your point lol

I think we’ll take a bit of a time out.

When this reopens, let’s keep on topic. I was going to remove some posts, but I don’t think that would ultimately be helpful - but please don’t be tempted to reopen off-topic conversations. There are enough places for that type of argument elsewhere on the interwebz.

The one card that 100% needs updating is the Halifax debit cards. They look so outdated. They have updated their credit cards so hopefully they are planning to update their debit cards soon.

Yes, the credit cards look OK now, inoffensive haha

I can agree to this. I think TSB have made a really good change with their card

I think the best card Monzo have is the standard coral. Kinda wish I’d kept it when switching to Plus.

I’m probably not as wowed by the TSB design as most people are. It’s nice, but I’m not the greatest fan of those circles on the card. The card itself also looks quite empty.

I keep meaning to take a pic of my numerous bank card collection, and try to find my favourites and the one which are awful (Halifax, ahem).

Yeah. Take those bits from Plus and make sure the coral ‘pops’

Monzo US already has a standard coral design with the numbers on the back too, if I’m not mistaken.

I think somebody posted about it in the US section of the forum?

Edit: Here it was, it looks very good if you ask me (I’ve always thought that the white numbers sit a bit oddly against the coral background).

I’d definitely go back to coral (when mine expires) for that design.

I reckon Monzo would be super nervous about introducing a new standard card design. The number of lost or stolen cards would skyrocket, I imagine…
