Coin Jar Logic

Iv had beautiful whole figures for transactions that long now that I forgot the sight of a non CoinJar transaction until I saw a stray £0.97 pop up.

According to customer service CoinJar logic dosnt work below a £1

What is logical about that??? What’s the reason £0.97 rounds up just as well as £10.97

Possibly as it would be mess with active card checks for 1p

There has to be a cut-off somewhere.

Are active card checks not normally £0.00?

PlayStation do £0.10
Digital ocean do $1.00
Netflix do £1.00
Amazon do £1.00
NowTV do £0.10
Yo-yo wallet do £0.02
TFL do £0.10 (?)

There’s a big mix of £1 and less

Reminds me of the time I had payment taken over the phone for a missed delivery and had to sort out a redelivery and the agent misheard my CVV, clicked a little too enthusiastically, and I got multiple card checks. A nightmare

I don’t get enough card checks for this to be an issue and even if I did, it’s 99p saved in a pot that’s already mine and I can access.

I think the biggest issue is TfL as they do 10p (I think) each time so I guess you’d have to commit to spending 90p each day on savings.

Though: is it not beyond realms of possibility to exclude “Active Card Check” from the algorythm?

I find the TFL 10p card check disappears the next day when the total charged appears on feed.
Also TFL doesn’t do a card check every time only if there have been enough days left between card uses (Think about a week).
