This reminds me, Irish bank AIB have just started asking for the purpose of your outbound payment… the difference is crazy
I’ve been through that with Virgin Money and Natwest and I did find the Virgin Money one to be better, but I think it helped that it was a UK call centre the first time (had to go through it 2 times with Natwest as the first guy berated me with unusual questions of “why are you paying the roofer in cash” which is frankly, none of their business
Most bank counter services (if you can find one) ask for the purpose now, and for cheques as well as cash. Sad world that they have to do that.
I do appreciate why they have to do that, I just found the Natwest rep to be very condescending in his tone… I did report it to Natwest, but they sided with the rep, naturally.
I bet they’ve had too many people go back and say 'I paid cash for my bathroom to be remodelled and got ripped off, I need that cash back to feed my kids"
My response would be along the lines of “and how were you planning to feed your kids if you had been happy with the work completed on your bathroom?”
That’s kinda the general question, unless they had to pay out cash for a new trader to come sort the issues.
My chase app says there are card payment issues but no incident is on their status page nor a historical one.
Ironically the app notice tells me to check the status page which has everything is fine and appears to have not been updated. I guess it’s a manual page. Kinda stupid the app links to it to get information where nothing has been posted, makes it redundant.
Possibly because it’s not a Chase issue. Mastercard is having problems.
Monzo’s status page similarly does not report an issue, despite them also being affected by the outage today. They don’t even have a note in the app.
I think this is likely to be X or Y group of payment terminals rather than Visa, MC
Sainsbury’s isn’t taking their own Argos card payment method either - suggests a terminal issue somehow
I’m not so sure. Both Chase and Monzo (flex) failed at the vets this morning. Barclaycard worked.
Chase worked fine for me at pets at home about 12ish.
I have been using Chase all day. 6/6 successful transactions at 6 different retailers.
Both chase and Monzo have been working for me. I just thought the notice pointing to no further information was annoying.
I thought they would have put a notice on their status page to say what the in app message was all about rather than leaving it unanswered.
Seen the amount of comments on the Chase thread, thought credit card had dropped
It’s getting closer and closer by the day.
So is the end of the world
That’ll be Sunday night, for some, if England don’t beat Spain
We joke, but people actually riot and fight over this , people really are pathetic sometimes
Can’t wait for my stay in London this weekend
Possibly the most disturbing image posted here. And there have been many.
