Chase UK Chat (Part 2)

They try to whet their customers’ appetites and then do nothing.

I doubt it’s as sinister as that lol, a fraction of a percent of national customers will be sent these surveys, isn’t even all community members as I haven’t had this one. They’re not necessarily going to build everything they send a survey about.

My Chase debit card expired recently so they sent me a new one. All good except I made the mistake of momentarily putting the old and new cards together on the table, and they are identical, except one card says “recycled plastic” and the other doesn’t.

With no expiry date printed on the card, I now don’t know which is the old one and which is the new one

Assuming the newer card is going to be recycled plastic?? Can anyone help haha

You can download a free NFC card scanning app (on Android, not sure about iOS), and it will allow you to tap your card on your phone and see its details, hopefully something in there will be useful to identify which is which.

Bin the one with the scratches.

My card doesn’t have “recycled plastic” on it and I’ve had it a while.

Take both to the shop, or a cashpoint.

Old one has a blue core, new one doesn’t.

My old one is still in the envelope it was sent in

Opened the Chase App and a new tab appeared along the bottom called Discover

What did you discover?

If you have an iPhone, try adding it to Apple Wallet using the contactless feature, you will see the expiry date.

My iPhone updated the Chase app to the latest version and the Digital ID section has disappeared - has anyone else seen this?

Same, but it never needed to be anywhere other than internal anyway. We don’t need to see it.

From one of their surveys, they were proposing to have something similar to what YOTI or Lloyds Smart ID offer.
They have probably removed it completely or going to improve it.
I outright told them I didn’t like the idea

Does anyone know if Chase still give cash back at airtime rewards?

Doubt it tbh.

What do you mean? Do you mean can you add your Chase card to Airtime Rewards to gain the cashback?

No, the 1% from Chase. I used to get it before made the changes but it has been long since I used the Chase card at Airtime rewards for the gift cards.
I just don’t want to use it when I won’t get the 1%

Oh I see. I didn’t know that was a thing.

Shall defer to someone who does this.

1% is only on grocery, transport and fuel.

Airtime likely comes up as gift cards style MCC therefore quite likely isn’t eligible for cashback.
