I had the same issue but it then took me through making a new account and I have the boosted 5.1%.
This extra boost has made me come crawling back to Chase after keeping my account dormant for 1+ year

Still earning 5.2% at Ulster on instant access, soā¦
Dang, I totally forgot about the Ulster saver when I decided to CASSā¦
A response from Chase has been posted in FB which states that only certain customers are eligible for the offer. Given that theyāll be able to see that I am transferring money to other accounts, I guess they really donāt want my moneyā¦
I queried this offer this morning. Had a response from Chase. Other than removing my name, this is verbatim:
I understand how this might seem unfair ( ā¦). The reason why itās an offer to limited and qualified customer only, is because we have a regular savings account for customers who would not be able to qualify and be eligible. No worries, we always consider our customersā satisfaction, and if this gets reviewed, hopefully the offer will be available for more customers like you.
I have asked for clarification of the second sentence. Maybe it makes sense to others but Iām struggling to see what the intended meaning might be.
It appears I have it. Maybe because I have a very low running balance to encourage me to move money over like before
Iāve ten savings accounts so would have to close one first.
Whatās with the regular saver? Is that something different again?
I think by āregularā they mean ānormalā rather than āfrequentā. Theyāre referring to the 4.1% savings accounts. So theyāre saying not everyone is eligible for the 5.1% one but that they still have the 4.1% one to use.
So they havenāt considered that this is going to seriously annoy a lot of customers?
Careless use of language by the CS rep. Regular = normal.
Seems not, I use mine quite actively so Iād like the extra 1%.
I donāt like any offer that targets new customers only and doesnāt also reward longer term or loyal customers.
Same here.
I donāt use my Chase account and I have it.
Further to my post above and querying the not very clear answer I received from the CS rep, my whole in-app āconversationā has disappeared. There was a 5 - message exchange between myself and the rep, which has gone in its entirety.
Pretty much all money lives in Chase now (except the savings I have stashed in Marcus), and itās the bank I use day to day, and I got the email about half an hour ago (Iām always the last).
So if it is only targeted at certain people, it begs the question, what are the requisites to get the offer?
Put me down for this group.
So what is the basis for discrimination, sorry, āeligibilityā?
You had to have less than Ā£500 in savings accounts on a particular date.
My Chase accounts (savings and current) have been empty and dormant for over a year and assumed I was chosen to encourage me to actually use Chase again for something.
