Not quite the same is it. The faff of buying vouchers all the time adds a lot of friction.
Disagree entirely. I know I need to fuel my car. Buy a £50 Morrisons voucher, get the cashback & some Morrisons points when I fill up - easy. Not had an issue (yet), not had to wait (apart from getting the necessary £10 in points) or any need to complain.
Not only that, there are far more offers that I can actually use than I have yet seen on Monzo.
As I said, more friction. Complete opposite of the Monzo solution.
Sadly the Monzo solution doesn’t really earn me any cash back
Monzo doesn’t actually provide me with a solution. No matter let’s move on. I’ll stick with so called ‘faff & friction’ as it suits me fine.
Just nipped into Sainsbury’s for a Mother’s Day card, ahead of my weekly shop .
Successfully claimed £0.11 Cashback. Win
Very much so. I had even run through scenarios in my head about using a different card if I found myself there or going to a different shop, before I activated it.
Seems I’m a creature of habit. And I’m three quid or so worse off. Gutted. Well, mildly annoyed.
Ah crap. Well that’s one way to wake up and realise you forgot to claim your cashback. I don’t usually shop at Sainsbury’s either.
Oh well - I think I can live with the £3 cash loss.
Is there any disadvantages for activating all of the cashback offers? I would only actually use about 1 of the companies at the moment, but I’m reading posts on here that other ones get renewed after activating others? It would be nice to get different ones through…
The only disadvantage is that you might use a single-use offer, such as Sainsbury’s, on your meal deal rather than weekly shop.
Or you might forget entirely and get nothing if you don’t activate it.
Yeah I would be more selective about those, but Uniqlo I’m never going to buy from, nor Space NK (never even heard of that one). So I’m wondering if it refreshes anything or kick starts any replacement offers. Or whether it uses algorithms and might send me more irrelevant offers. Or do we all get the same regardless?
You’d also potentially indicate to Monzo that you like those offers (even though you don’t and wont use them) so you’d get more similar ones going forward.
Edit: Jinx!
Hahahaha a very unintentional typo, albeit a hilarious one.
Auto correct Klaxon
More terrible Cashback offers have sneaked quietly into my app without fanfare. Can’t wait to get 10% off at Monica Vinader!!!
You not want a nice new discounted necklace?
There’s nowt wrong with Elizabeth Duke!
10% off national trust might get used by a few if that’s their thing.
