Think the ability to put a cap on a specific category would be good, dunno if it would be possible to do this. But like for example, groceries put a cap of £50 and you can either pick day, week, month.
Why would you need this though?
Or you could check your budget routinely and make sure you don’t spent that much? Since I imagine it would be a hassle if you set a limit and went slightly above in and then couldn’t use your card. Plus sometimes you would mark something you got from Tesco/Asda etc as shopping instead of groceries eg if you got clothes, and then got blocked outright instead of being able to manually adjust categories afterwards?
You can currently set a monthly budget per category. Then you’ll get notified if you’re on track to exceed that budget by the end of the month.
We’re a bit reluctant to decline payments that exceed a budget, because this could be pretty have some annoying, unanticipated consequences for users. But it would certainly be possible in future.
It should be noted that this feature is only available on iOS.
