Can't let you upgrade

This isn’t just you having this problem I am also! I really don’t understand why? I can contacted Monzo directly so many times and they just say that they can’t tell me why! I can’t upgrade

I can’t understand how any element of it would make you more of a credit risk than a standard account.

I would say have a look at your credit file and see if there are any reported issues. Failing that you may have to look at National Hunter. NHunter can be incredibly impactful on banking products without the customer ever knowing.

At a large stretch I’m thinking perhaps the insurance element. I know they are provided by 3rd party but perhaps Monzo are in someway responsible for de-risking against potentially fraudulent claimants.

For premium maybe, but not plus…? Who knows

Accounts being used for heavy gambling aren’t always favourably looked at.

Dang I never knew that at one stage I was sending out at least 10 gambling transactions a day :sob:
Now it’s really the odd one

It really depends. The bank I work for are fine if you have a salary coming or any other long term commitments like a mortgage at the same time. The problem we would see is with matched betters giving out login details to a 3rd party to bet on their behalf. Accounts being used only for matched betting have a tendency to turn sour quickly around overdrafts and loans.

I’ve never done matched betting it’s mostly casino games therefore it’s only me who has the details and it’s always been on a maximum of 4 sites

I’m also blocked from being able to upgrade to Monzo premium.

Have gambling sites blocked on Monzo, 965 credit score, had a Monzo loan that was paid back on time.

Really not sure what the problem is, and the customer service team don’t even bother entertaining the questions - they just say they’re not willing to let me upgrade currently.

Really strange stuff, especially since i’ve been with Monzo since 2016 and also have shares in the company.

I can’t see this making any difference one way or another.

The only possibility I can think of is it’s something to do with the insurance. Have you ever had any difficulty getting insurance?

Sadly nothing has come to light. I have had some issues with Credit Karma. Despite answering my credit file questions correctly I cant seem to access my TransUnion file. Monzo seem to rely heavily on this so its possible there is a lack of data, or in correct data being fed from here. Likewise, CS can’t tell me why I can’t upgrade.
