My iOS app can handle a custom URI scheme, say `fancy-banking://`, and I set my redirect URI on Monzo for Developers to `fancy-banking://monzo/redirect`. However, once I start the OAuth dance, i.e., build the `auth.monzo.com` URL and send the user (me) there, the user (me) gets an email with a big fat button that does not link to anything but just has its `href` set to a URI fragment (`#hwe9gsf9wg`) instead of a redirect URI. When I change the redirect URI to say `https://localhost:54321/redirect\`, the button in the email works perfectly.
Localhost doesn’t do the job for me:
I don’t want to set up a HTTP server locally just to get the code (1), and I don’t want use a domain which I’d have to register with the iOS app to have the app automatically intercept links to a registered domain because of the entire Apple site association process I’d have to go through (2). Hey, that’s exactly what custom URI schemes are for.
