I don’t think it was just things hosted there, it caused other routing issues that had wider effects. But it is insane how much of the internet relies on only a few critical services like this.

I have stuff hosted in the EU on AWS that had no issue but Virginia can cause issues across a bunch of regions depending on what’s out.
I remember when Virginia went down and AWS had hosted the status page there as well making its a real pain.
It’s always Virginia as that’s where AWS does all the new stuff first usually.
