Be careful guys. I rented a Car in Birmingham airport last month. This was the only transaction using my Amex card as I got a new one recently.
Today I received push notification… someone booked a hotel in Saudi Arabia using my card. I think someone from Enterprise compromised my card this what Amex support confirmed (card was compromised). Easy for them plus they got driving license, so they know DOB, full address etc.
Amex fraud team and support was brilliant. They booked priority next day card delivery

They only need your card details and name (some times not even that) to use the card.
Fully agree. Any time I’ve had an issue, they solved it positively quickly.
How stupid of someone to use a stolen card to book a hotel … The hotel and Amex will now who did the booking or who the booking was for.
What are people spending their £50 HN credit on?

Just to check - do you have a HN account? It’s possible if you do - and had your old Amex card linked to it, that when you got a new one it updated automatically and then your HN account was compromised and used to book it. Although a little more unlikely, worth a check

I cancelled my Rewards card Monday and moved some limit to my other Amex, all ready says cancelled in the app. I guess it will just stay there saying cancelled unless I remove it myself?
Yep, it’ll just sit there till you get rid of it yourself.

Just got a partner card for my OH (currently a £15 cashback offer when you apply). Quite surprised it has Member Since 25 on the front as I assumed it was basically just a duplicate of mine.
Yeah, my son is on my account and has member since 23 vs my since 04. Wonder if that carries over when he eventually gets his own card?

It will but not automatically. He’d have to call them and ask for it, but then they’ll easily match up the profiles and re-issue the card automatically.
It’s the same if you get a new type of card, sometimes they’ll start you fresh with the member since date but they’ll happily fix it.
It happens with some merchants. I don’t know how/why

Was surprised to see the amount of places in Aussie Land that don’t take AMEX.
Even some places in Central Sydney was a “NO!”.
Was expecting my AMEX to be my main card on this hoilday. But no Revoult Ultra taken the crown for that.
No point using Amex abroad anyway, as the FX fee wipes out any rewards

Only time I ever use Amex abroad is on work trips where I am going to be reimbursed for my expenses in full.
I will have to have words with my Aussie other half as she assured me that when we move there we will get away with using only the Amex which was going to be really handy as I know I can get an Aussie one through Amex global.
On a related note, she also said that her uncle only ever used Diners Club. Not totally sure that I believe that now
