Algbra discussion

The app is a little clunky. Very Revolut style, I don’t think there’s yet any major differences between the two from a UI perspective.

As such as there is Revolut to Monzo, Starling etc.

Postal service is very unreliable these days…

It doesn’t say there’s any so far.

Gotta spend money to make money. Right?

I’ve not read much into their backing. I wish Revolut did 1% not 0.1% in the EU.

I also get (and I very much hope I am proved wrong) big push then go boom vibes. They do seem well connected (ex chancellors and a good number of household name COO/CEO’s) BUT what I can’t see, publically at least (and they have no reason to publish it of course) is much other than they were given £3.5m in June.

Hope that hasn’t been ■■■■■■ up the wall on fancy “playing at being a fintech” events & offices already.

Just as a sub note - I actually wish them well, I’ve only just finished changing banks around so this time it’s going to be a watch :eyes:

With no exceptions I can’t see how they will afford this for long. It’s great, but it’s such a loss leader.

Oh I would too - but I’ve seen that exact thing happen before. Lots of investment, swanky event’s, a lovely and novel app but no mechanism to turn that into a profit stream = investors pulling the plug and goodbye.

I don’t think that will happen here, but it can and does happen

Looked at the website for a while and only just realised when others pointed it out here that it isn’t called “algebra”. Bit of a stupid name imo

Quick question. Algbra seems to be based in the UK, so why aren’t they using UK spellings for words?

Colour vs color

It’s the same sort code as my Hyperjar account.

It is indeed. The mystery grows…

Card looks good though IRL (pic below doesn’t do it justice as they all claim):

04-00-85 will be the sort code for the white label financial services firm which provides the tech. It’s the Bank–as–a–Service.

It’s Modulr, same as Revolut.

Means their direct debits will be handled the same and not tell you it’s set up, until the day before it’s due.

Meh.

You don’t get to see the two tone until it’s in the right light.

Tried to sign up, nothing heard from them in the past few days, every time I log in it says my application is incomplete and to re-confirm my email, which I do, and then it returns to the “being checked” state.

I’ve given up.
