I usually use monzo on my iPhone. I’ve forgotten to pay a bill earlier though so needed to do it on my iPad. It’s the first time I’ve used the app on my iPad.
I completed all the details and went to make the payment, and presumably because this is the first time I’ve used the app on this device I was asked to verify my identity by recording a video. Which is where I had to stop and cancel the transaction because my disability means I can’t do it.
I am quadriplegic, and use voice software to control the iPad. My iPad is in front of me upright in a landscape mode. I can’t move the iPad physically. The verification that I needed to do was impossible for me because the app expected me to put it in portrait position, and as I am unable to physically move the iPad I can’t change the orientation. Even had I been able to put it in portrait mode I am unable to move my head to put it in the aperture where you want it.
So I’m going to have to give up and try to remember to do it tomorrow on my iPhone. I will also have to remember to get one of my carers to hold the iPad for me so I can prove my identity. For which I’m guessing I’m going to have to make up a transaction to send somebody some money.
Is there an alternative way that you can help disabled customers to prove their identity?
