A ventilator for the NHS

Dear Monzo Community

I hope you and family are well. My name is Aamir Abideen. I am an investor in Monzo.

I am also a front line pharmacist for Boots UK (GPhc Reg no. 2060485) and I have a request.

I am trying to raise funds on Just Giving for a ventilator for the NHS. I would be grateful if you could support and SHARE the page with as many as possible for this much needed life-support machine.

Weʼre raising money to fund a ventilator for an NHS hospital… Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.

I wish everyone the very best of health. We may be apart but we are all in this together.

Kind regards

Aamir

Your link doesn’t work (for me, at any rate).

Nah you’re ok thanks, they’re gonna get plenty provided in the coming weeks as it is

A concern for me is that the ventilator problem doesn’t seem to be a money one, but more a supply chain and regulatory one, I’m not sure how a ship round will help with this

You’re not the only one

It looks like a copy paste job and the forum has stripped out his HTML code making the link not work.

Supply is short, the will and money to buy them is not. We should not be normalising the NHS needing charity donations for equipment IMO. Feels like a slippery slope?

The chancellor has been chucking billions and billions at covid, I’m not sure that £20 from us is really going to make a difference

I’m going to continue to support local charities where I can, and those who have a funding rather than supply issue

I think that organisation and it’s local focus is key, it’s also a long term big investment. This appeal is the work of an individual, for a local hospital but being advertised nationally, it’s also not clear that the ventilator will arrive(every country wants them desperately, and are placing large orders on a nation state basis), or the long term usefulness (we will have a lot of ventilators we hopefully won’t need to use again in a year or so)

I wish you luck in getting the tools you need, and I’m sure everyone here supports the NHS, personally I’m not convinced this is best use of the money I chose to give to charities
