A big update to connected accounts

I doubt it, and I’m not sure most folks would want it too.

I presume it’s inheriting the name of the account in your Chase app, so this would be really cool for folks who take full advantage of that part of Chase by having multiple accounts. You can differentiate between them at a glance.

I remember back in the day, when I connected Revolut, there was no way to tell the accounts apart at a glance like that.

If you want to get rid of your name, you could try editing the account name in the Chase app and see if it trickles over.

It’s exactly this

So I only have 1 account within chase so the pinned account defaulted to just saying [first name]'s account in my screenshot

Added an extra account and relinked and it’s now displaying the nickname of the account as in the chase app so it’s now displaying that instead

This is for people like me that have multiple Chase current/saving’s accounts. I can now see which one is which :tada::tada:

It’s that name you give it in Chase.

(edit) the names aren’t showing in the edit accounts screen so I still can’t tell which accounts I’m hiding/reordering, can the names be added there as well?

Yep. I’d appreciate the same for my various Wise accounts

Recently got a new HSBC credit card and upgraded monzo to an extra account so that the card would show.

After making a payment on the credit card the balance updated straight away in monzo however it’s still not showing in the HSBC app 24 hours later.

HSBC blurb states it can take a few days to update the app. Crazy. Glad monzo give me a true, up to date, view of my finances. Big thumbs up from me

Yeah, HSBC transactions should show up at the end of the next working day, or can be same day if the payment is made early enough. Monzo uses the available balance for all its open banking balances so they’re always up to date even if the transactions haven’t posted with the bank.

Except for Amex :grimacing:

It seems to be a description that gets pulled in along with the account data - some banks support it, but it’s not editable (though it would be nice if it was - see here!)

Amex I’ve noticed can be hit and miss, I’m sure it’s done it sometimes but not others. I know it hasn’t for some recently even if it used to, not sure why it’d be different with them.

For me the balance always excludes pending transactions which breaks one of the trends tabs I used to use a lot until I discovered the problem

Please let us know about Virgin CCs. Is it still near or will the Nationwide merger just mean we have to wait for ages!?!?

Virgin credit cards are now in Labs. You’ll need to enable that in settings if you haven’t already in order to use it.

Support should be available if you enable Labs.

Yep @vafnanmurray, works a treat. Last card I needed.

Has anyone tried adding the new Amazon Barclaycard? It takes me to the barclaycard app but then nothing happens?

It can take up to 10 days for it to activate the Open Banking features from opening your account. I only know because mine just started working. If you go to the settings in the Barclaycard app, then Open Banking, it will let you know whether it’s active or not yet.

Hope this helps :slightly_smiling_face:

If you’ve got multiple accounts with FD you can’t remove one account and have to delete all accounts and then presumably re-add the accounts you want connected. Is this the same for all connected accounts?

Yes, but I’m pretty sure that’s a limitation of open banking in general though as I’m sure I had the same issue when I used open banking in the RBS app.
